Lillian C. Roberto

Roberto, a lifelong Wakefield, Mass. resident, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Oosterman's Rest Home in Wakefield.Born in Wakefield on March 9, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Cavalieri) Puleo. Mrs. Roberto was raised and educated in Wakefield. She was a longtime devoted member of St. Florence Parish.Before raising her family, she was a seamstress and kept up the trade from her home. Mrs. Roberto and her late husband loved to dance, even taking it upon themselves to take ballroom dancing lessons. She was an avid bingo player and she loved to bake and to cook; her family recalls her making delicious raviolis.Above all, she cherished her role as a mother and grandmother; she loved being able to help raise her grandchildren.She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred J. Roberto. She was the loving mother of Carmine A. Roberto and his wife, Linda, of Montgomery, Ala., William P. Roberto and his wife, Dianne, of Jefferson, Mass., Alfred J. Roberto Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Charleston, S.C., John G. Roberto and his wife, Kerrie, of Wakefield, Rose Marie Trombettas and her late husband, John, of Montgomery, Ala., Annette M. Lomas and her husband, Harry, of Reading, Mass., Geri A. Brown and her husband, Dennie, of Athens, and Donna L. MacDonald and her husband, Jack, of Irvine, Calif. She was the sister of Phillip and Joseph Puleo, Frances Baron and the late Doris Moriana. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.Her funeral will be held at McDonald Funeral Home, located at 19 Yale Avenue in Wakefield, on Wednesday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, located at 47 Butler Avenue in Wakefield, at 10 a.m. Interment will be held in Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452; or to Oosterman Rest Home, 706 Main St., Wakefield, MA 018...
